Dear Friend,

Thank you for your interest in Greenville Christian Academy.  For over 42 years, GCA has provided a quality Christian education for thousands of students here in Greenville as well as the surrounding communities.  In addition to the spiritual values and character qualities that we want to see instilled in the lives of boys and girls, our goal is to provide a balance in the areas of academics, fine arts, and athletics.

An excellent curriculum, caring teachers, and an atmosphere of learning combine to provide an academic program that speaks for itself in reputation and achievement tests scores.  Each year, the average score for GCA students in the Stanford Achievement Tests exceeds the national norms by 12-18 months.  An emphasis on intensive phonics in the early grades provides students here at GCA the ability to read with confidence and comprehension.  A strong tradition of mastery of skills in language and mathematics provide the groundwork for advanced classes in high school such as Advanced Placement English, Physics, Advanced Biology, Advanced Math, and Calculus.  The majority of the textbooks at GCA are published by A Beka Book, the largest distributor of Christian textbooks, located in Pensacola, Florida.  The junior high and high school Math curriculum is published by Bob Jones University Press.

Our Fine Arts program is designed to provide a well-rounded aspect of a student’s education which compliments academics and athletics.  Music instruction begins in first grade, and students participate in one of the two bands or three choirs, beginning in fourth grade.  Private piano lessons are offered during the regular school day.

Students at Greenville Christian Academy may choose to participate in soccer, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, or baseball as long as they meet the standard for grade point average.  The objective of the athletic program is to field a competitive team while avoiding a “win at all cost” philosophy that is prevalent in our society today.

Greenville Christian Academy is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools, which represents nearly 180,000 students across the United States.  Our teachers are certified through the North Carolina Christian School Association, which is made up of some eighty-five Christian schools here in our state.

If you would like additional information about GCA, please give us a call, visit our web site at www.greenvillechristian.com, e-mail us at gcanc@greenvillechristian.com, or visit our campus.  We look forward to meeting you, answering any questions that you might have, and giving you a tour of our school.
