A strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond

The learning environment at GCA

Three- and four-year-olds are eager to learn, solve problems, and express themselves creatively. We provide an engaging preschool experience that is grounded in traditional learning. Our teachers lead students in hands-on activities, using rote memorization and other techniques which deepen learning.

Inside our preschool classrooms, you will find:

Excellent teachers

Our preschool teachers make learning feel like fun, all while helping students develop the focus and self-control needed for school success.

Smaller groups

With most classes only 20 students, our students experience the benefits of social collaboration and individualized attention from their teachers.

Intentional technology use

Young students learn best through tactile experiences. We limit tech use to opportunities when truly beneficial.

A strong emphasis on safety

We’ve invested in campus security technologies and conduct background checks on all faculty and staff.

Preschool Programs

Students in our three- and four-year-old classes attend school five days a week. Parents can choose a half-day or full-day schedule.

Half Days
8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Our half-day program covers all academic subjects including Bible, reading, writing, math, science, and history. Students enjoy a mid-morning snack and recess.
Full Day (Extended Care)
8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Students in our full-day program complete the academic portion of their day in the morning, followed by lunch with friends, a nap/rest time, and afternoon play.

“We prayed about a school for our son,

[as we searched for a place] that he could thrive in. He struggled through kindergarten the first time and it was recommended that he repeat because he was academically behind. We came in for our interview [at Greenville Christian Academy] and we instantly felt [at] home.

In a matter of months, we saw him not only learning and growing, but thriving. We saw him become more confident and started to read even above his grade level. [He later] went [on] to win the citizenship award. This strong foundation [in learning] carried him and continues to carry him. He also found [the] confidence to participate in extracurricular activities and has made lifelong friends.”

Kindergarten Prep

Our preschool program equips students for the next step, teaching them to read and write well ahead of kindergarten. Students will also become comfortable with numbers — we introduce the concept of money value, addition, and subtraction, so students are not simply memorizing numbers, but understanding them in the context of our world.

Social Development

Preschool students are in a rapid state of social growth. Each day is an opportunity to learn how to play with others, be respectful, and resolve conflict. Whether standing in a straight line while moving throughout campus, waiting for a friend to finish with a learning tool before taking a turn, or simply showing empathy, students become equipped to thrive in group settings.

Parent-Teacher Communication

We value strong alignment between each child’s home and school. Our preschool teachers partner with parents, communicating openly and providing daily updates to keep them engaged in the learning process. A daily folder goes home with each child’s class work and important updates about what’s coming up.

“My favorite thing about teaching kindergarten is watching my students smile daily knowing that I can help them grow academically and spiritually. T“My favorite thing about teaching is our class Bible time! When the stories are told and then they are able to participate in the review, their eyes light up! Teaching has impacted my life through the strong relationships formed with the children, as well as the parents. The lessons learned, whether academic, spiritual, or life lessons, help children to succeed long past my influence.”he way I can influence their lives, loving each one of them, loving what I do [allows me] to praise God for the opportunity to do His will daily.
